A Subterranean World
We see plenty above but what about the world under?
A subterranean place with multiple layers under the Planet's crust where light hardly reaches, we look into the life of Kornus who lives on the highest level of the terrain.
Name: Kornus
Species: Cornuvelos Venabipes
Characteristics
Kornus is a successful apex predator with a 95% kill rate. He is a solitary, nocturnal creature that heavily relies on his sense of smell and sight. Being nocturnal, his eyes are sensitive to light and can see more spectrums of light than the naked human eye during the dark, therefore his eyes don’t work too well when the sun is at its brightest. Kornus has dexterous limbs and is quite agile, making him a fast runner and expert climber. He is both bipedal and a quadruped. His long arms give him a long reach and his sharp fingers allow him to pierce deep cuts. Kornus has a wide peripheral vision of past 240 degrees, however, his paracentral vision is not so great making it a blind spot which is why he tends to cock his head from side to side to look. He has great smell receptors that can track scents up to 30km away and even 1km underwater.
Personality
Kornus has a short temper stemming from his aggressive personality which comes from being a successful hunter, giving him the privilege of playing around with his prey and having no worries to hunt for food. This trait also allows him the right to be a picky eater because of his success in hunts. He also likes to hunt for sport and on occasion and would let his prey go free sometimes so he could go for another round another time. His personality is a result of his great skills yet it is also part of his weakness. He spends time leisurely entertaining himself and being an apex predator, he often has his guard down as nothing should scare him, along with his arrogance and aggression, he is prone to self-destruction.
